Randy A. FoutchChairman & Chief Executive Officer
Randy A. Foutch is our founder and has served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since that time. He also served as our President from October 2006 to July 2008. Mr. Foutch has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to our formation, Mr. Foutch founded Latigo Petroleum, Inc. (''Latigo'') in 2001 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until it was sold to Pogo Producing Co. in May 2006. Previous to Latigo, Mr. Foutch founded Lariat Petroleum, Inc. (''Lariat'') in 1996 and served as its President until January 2001 when it was sold to Newfield Exploration, Inc. He is currently serving on the board of directors of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. and is a member of the audit, governance and nominating and corporate committees. He also serves on the board of directors of Cheniere Energy and is a member of the audit and compensation committees.
Mr. Foutch is also a member of the National Petroleum Council, America's Natural Gas Alliance and the Advisory Council of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas, Austin. From 2006 to 2008, he served on the board of directors of Bill Barrett Corporation and MacroSolve, Inc. Mr. Foutch also serves on several nonprofit and private industry boards. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Texas and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston.
Mr. Foutch has been successful in founding other oil and gas companies and serves in director positions of various oil and gas companies. As a result, he provides a strong operational and strategic background and has valuable business, leadership and management experience and insights into many aspects of the operations of exploration and productions companies. Mr. Foutch also brings financial expertise to the board, including his experience in obtaining financing for startup oil and gas companies.
Jay P. StillPresident & Chief Operating Officer
Jay P. Still joined Laredo in July 2013 as President and Chief Operating Officer and is a member of our board of directors. Prior to joining Laredo, he held various positions with Pioneer Natural Resources, most recently as Executive Vice President, Domestic Operations where he was responsible for assets in the Rockies, Alaska, Barnett Shale, West Panhandle, Mid-Continent and South Texas. His responsibilities also included Corporate Engineering, EFS Midstream, Sustainable Development and he led the efforts in transitioning to natural gas as fuel for transportation and heavy equipment.
In 1995, Mr. Still joined Pioneer's predecessor, Parker & Parsley Petroleum Company and previously spent ten years with Mobil Corp. Mr. Still holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University.
Richard C. ButerbaughExecutive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Richard C. Buterbaugh became Laredo's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in December 2012. He joined Laredo in June 2012 as Senior Vice President—Investor Relations. Mr. Buterbaugh has more than 35 years of experience in financial analysis, planning and investor relations in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he was Vice President—Investor Relations and Corporate Planning for Quicksilver Resources Inc. from March 2007 until June 2011, and held various financial positions at Kerr-McGee Corp. from November 1989 until its sale in August 2006, most recently serving as Vice President—Corporate Planning. Mr. Buterbaugh graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Patrick J. CurthSenior Vice President—Exploration and Land
Patrick J. Curth has served as our Senior Vice President—Exploration and Land since October 2006. He has been involved in exploration and development projects in the Mid-Continent area for over three decades. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Curth joined Latigo in 2000 as Exploration Manager and served as Vice President—Exploration when Latigo was sold in May 2006. From 1997 to 2001, he was the Vice President—Exploration at Lariat. Mr. Curth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Windham College, a Masters Degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and a second Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences from Oklahoma State University.
Kenneth E. DornblaserSenior Vice President & General Counsel
Kenneth E. Dornblaser joined Laredo in June 2011 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Immediately prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Dornblaser was a shareholder in the Johnson & Jones law firm, which he co-founded in March 1994. Prior to co-founding Johnson & Jones, Mr. Dornblaser had been engaged in the private practice of law in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 1980. Mr. Dornblaser graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting and the University of Oklahoma where he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
Dan C. SchooleySenior Vice President—Midstream and Marketing
Dan C. Schooley joined Laredo in June of 2007 and is our Senior Vice President—Midstream and Marketing. In December 2006, Mr. Schooley came out of retirement to serve as the Vice President of gas supply at Superior Pipeline, a position he held until June 2007. From October 2004 until his retirement in May 2006, he was a marketing manager at Latigo, where he was responsible for marketing and risk management. Mr. Schooley holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Oklahoma State University.
Michael T. BeyerVice President—Controller & Chief Accounting Officer
Michael T. Beyer became Laredo's Chief Accounting Officer in April 2014. He joined Laredo in September 2007 and most recently served as Controller. Mr. Beyer has more than 14 years of experience in accounting, with the majority in the energy industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he worked in the tax field and spent five years at a private energy company. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Oklahoma and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2002.
James R. CourtierVice President—Exploration and Geosciences Technology
James R. Courtier joined Laredo in August 2014 as Vice President—Exploration and Geosciences Technology. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Courtier spent eight years at Hess Corporation, most recently as Regional Subsurface Manager—Bakken, with prior roles in exploration management and strategic planning. Prior to Hess, Mr. Courtier spent 10 years at ConocoPhillips as a senior geophysicist. Mr. Courtier holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from University of Leicester and a Master of Science in Basin Evolution & Dynamics from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Lars P. CrotwellVice President and CIO
Lars P. Crotwell joined Laredo in December 2011 as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. As the Chief Information Officer, Mr. Crotwell has overall responsibility for Laredo's technology strategy and footprint. He brings over 20 years of IT experience to Laredo, having served in an executive role at a number of companies. Prior to Laredo, Mr. Crotwell was the Vice President, Information Technology at Basic Energy Services and an IT Director for Key Energy Services, both large oilfield services providers. Mr. Crotwell graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Computer Science, as well as earning his MBA from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Mark H. ElliottVice President—Geology and Development—Permian
Mark H. Elliott joined Laredo in May 2008 and is our Vice President—Geology and Development—Permian. Before joining Laredo, Mr. Elliott served as Vice President of Geology & Exploration for Rex Energy Operating Company's Southwest Region from May 2007 to May 2008. From August 2006 to May 2007, he was a Senior Geologist at Cimarex Energy. In 2004, he joined Latigo in the Midland office as a Senior Geologist. He served in this position until the company was sold in 2006. Mr. Elliott has more than 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry, and, throughout his career, has served in both staff and management positions. Mr. Elliott graduated from Thiel College with a Bachelor degree in Geology.
Mark W. KingVice President—Land
Mark W. King joined Laredo in April 2008 as Land Manager and currently serves as Vice President—Land, a position he has held since May 2011. From September 2004 to March 2008, he was the Vice President of Land at Orion Exploration, LLC. Prior to joining Orion Exploration, from September 1984 to September 2004, he was founder and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Land Corp./Frontier Energy Leasing Service Inc., a full service land company that provided support for numerous major and mid-major oil and gas companies. He attended Oklahoma State University and Central State University.
Laura M. LundquistVice President—Human Resources
Laura M. Lundquist joined Laredo in April 2012 as Vice President—Human Resources. Ms. Lundquist has 25 years of human resources experience with her former companies including SemGroup Corporation, NORDAM and Williams. Her most recent position was Vice President, Human Resources for SemGroup Corporation. Ms. Lundquist holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Westminster College, and a Master's degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma.
Gary B. SmallwoodVice President—Reservoir Modeling and Field Development Planning
Gary B. Smallwood joined Laredo in August 2009 as Reservoir Engineering Sr. Technical Advisor and became Reservoir Engineering Manager and Granite Wash Team Lead in 2011 and Vice President - Reservoir Modeling and Field Development Planning in April 2013. Before joining Laredo, Mr. Smallwood gained extensive Granite Wash experience with Samson Resources from 2003 to 2009. He worked in the Texas Panhandle Division for BP America from 2000 to 2003 and worked the Permian and Delaware Basins for ARCO from 1990 to 2000. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Missouri School of Science and Technology.
A. John WhiteheadVice President—Operations and Engineering—Permian
A. John Whitehead joined Laredo in February 2012 and has served as Vice President—Operations and Engineering—Permian since March 2012. Mr. Whitehead has 30 years of experience with his former companies including ARCO, Phillips and ConocoPhillips. His most recent positions were Vice President—North Slope Operations and Development, General Manager—Petrozuata and Operations Manger—Farmington, all with ConocoPhillips. Mr. Whitehead holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from St. Edward's University.
